Some people love their sleep… and when I say some people I mean me! I’m some people! However, what we sometimes forget is how much our bodies truly need it. Sleep is important regardless of our age and has many adverse effects on our health when we aren’t getting enough.
Lack of/or irregular sleep has been linked to:
- High Blood Pressure
- High Cholesterol
- Obesity
- Increased Hypertension
- Diabetes
- Coronary Artery Disease
- Cardiovascular Disease
- Higher Levels of Stress Hormones
Here are some quick tips to a better night sleep…
- Limit caffeine usage
- Avoid your phone before bedtime
- Limit naps
- Take a melatonin supplement
- Exercise regularly, but not before bed
