In a recent article I found, I was shocked to find that grapefruit can be hazardous to your health if you are on certain medications.  While grapefruit is considered to be part of a healthy diet because the juice has vitamin C and potassium – nutrients your body needs to work properly – grapefruit can affect the way your medicines work, especially if you have high blood pressure or arrhythmia. With most drugs that interact negatively with grapefruit juice, “the juice lets more of the drug enter the blood, when there is too much drug in the blood, you may have more side effects,” resulting in a harmful outcome.

Educate yourself more on grapefruit and other juices and the drugs it affects by checking out the latest from the FDA.
