What is the big deal over abbreviating the word “road” with “rd” on my resume or application?  My work history and references will seal the deal for me.

So what is the big deal if I misspell my client’s last name?  He would give me the deal regardless of how I spelled his name.

What’s the big deal if I spell “to” when it should be “too”?  My reader will get the point!

The big deal is that it proves the following three things.

  1. It proves your lack of attention to details, especially important details.
  2. It proves you lack patience and probably do not desire to see a project through to the end.
  3. Lastly, it proves you have no respect for your audience.

I think we can all agree on the fact that we’re at our best when we work with the best.  Go the extra mile; spend the extra few seconds to make certain you did the best job you could do.  I’m encouraging you to cross your t’s and dot your i’s.  After all, you never know the results of “What’s The Big Deal” will be.
